Every Wednesday, the organizers at Foundation Nightclub and USC Events hold an event called SUBstance Wednesdays. This event brings together local artists with some of the most acclaimed names in the Bass genre. This night will feature Owleks vs Kippee, Th3ory, SixFour and none other than the DnB duo Calyx & Teebee.
The duo’s signature sound has gone through a number of evolutions through the years because of their combined 20 years of involvement in the DnB scene. Calyx & Teebee officially started collaborating in 2004, though they did meet many years prior because both signed to the imprint Moving Shadows. Fast forward to the present, and the duo have been signed to the world-renowned RAM Records, founded by Andy C.
Not only that, they’ve released many banging hits. In 2012, Calyx & Teebee won not one, but two awards from the Drum and Bass Arena Awards. Their video for Pure Gold won Best Video and their track Elevate This Sound won Best Track. The duo have also headlined at many festivals around the globe including Electric Forest, 4M4 Frequency Festival and more.
Tickets for the event start at $12.50 + fees and tax. Even better, if you bring your student I.D, you can get into the event free of charge. However, to ensure that you’ll get in, read Foundation Nightclub’s dress code and show up early. The event is 21+ and starts at 10 pm until 2 am on Wednesday, June 27.
