Speculation: Could the Northwest ever handle a three-weekend festival?

Tomorrowland has been setting the pace for dance music events since the beginning; growing and evolving right along side the growth and evolution of the dance music industry as a whole. Once again, Tomorrowland could be the standard for festivals returning from multi-year, COVID-driven hiatuses.

If you really think about it, this is a great strategy because it offers so much flexibility both with the schedules of artists who are often busy touring in the summer months and the schedules of the attendees as well. It provides the maximum amount of attendance possible, while boasting variety and maximizing profits both for the festival organizers themselves and the entire country of Belgium, which will be raking in those vital tourist dollars following what has been a long pandemic for us all.

That all begs the question of whether a similar format could be achieved here in the Northwest, and if this format will become the new standard for many large-scale festivals in the future. We may not know the answers right now but based on the success Tomorrowland is sure to have with this new evolution, it stands to reason that festival creators all over the world will take notice.
