You Won’t Believe The New Midi Mod For Your Acoustic Guitar

The biggest challenge with a live electronic show these days is being able to bring all the instruments you would need to play it live. A single show from any DJ would require an orchestra to be able to pull it off and only a handful of artists use instruments in their acts on tour. Robin Sukroso, a Berlin based musician, has recognized that gap and has created the thing that could fill it. Introducing the ACPAD: An attachable Midi Controller made for your acoustic guitar.

Robin needed something to bridge his love of electronic and acoustic music, so he created a crude version of what we are seeing today. Not giving up because of a few aesthetic hurdles, Robin, along with his partners at IIT Bombay (India), created a newer version that is far more practical, effective, and beautiful. But don’t get too excited just yet. They still need to launch their Kickstarter campaign to get their product to market. But you can watch the video below and see how insanely amazing this invention is.

If that video doesn’t blow your mind, these specs will. The ACPAD is only 2mm thick! Its design allows you to easily attach it to any guitar by sticking it directly to the body of the guitar just like any pick guard. It doesn’t provide any dampening which will keep your acoustic notes loud and clear. Believe it or not, even though it is just 2 mm thick, it has its own battery built right in and it’s wireless when you need it to be. For longer studio sessions, you can plug a Midi USB into it and play endlessly.

The modulations and effects you can use on this are only as limited as you want them to be. It works with Ableton Live, which should be an easy adaption for any electronic music producer. The ACPAD will be available in a wood-grain design, as well as black or white. Customization designs will be available in the future, however. Here is a slightly earlier version of the pad that Robin designed, just to give you some persective of how far it has come and what a bad ass guitar player he is.

It might be a little bit of a wait for this cool piece of tech, but you can take a look at our list of cool tech that you can get now.

Just imagine how insane instruments will become after electronic music and some creative people get their hands on them. What do you think about this little invention? Tell us in the comments below.

Trance music began defining his life at the young age of 14, but thoroughly enjoys any type of music equally. He sees the music as an escape from the daily doldrums of life and says music can change a persons life in an instant pulling from his own experiences. His only goal in life is to share wonderful music with people and take electronic music to a higher plain with more accountability and creating a safer environment for his friends.
