6 Local Late-Summer Shows Worth Saving Up For

Somehow it’s already mid-August, and the final third of 2015 is before us. Summer has flown by, with festival after festival delivering some of the best moments and memories of our lives. With the likes of EDC, Paradiso, Shambhala, and more behind us, our wallets and bank accounts have been drained. Despite these hard truths, our incredible local scene continues to attract quality artists at a frightening rate.

So, we’re left with a few options, one of which requires the same mental and budgetary fortitude that allowed many of us to attend the festival(s) of our dreams this summer. This option, saving up and picking a show or two that will maximize the value of your hard-earned dollar, is how veteran ravers throughout the Northwest make the most of our scene. From Vancouver to Portland, and Seattle to Boise, the Northwest raver is often spoilt for choice, and the next couple months are no different.

To help sort through the incessantly growing number of local shows vying for our last pennies, we broke down some of the shows we’ll be saving up for over the coming weeks. These are shows taking place over the next couple months, and we’re counting those as late-summer because, honestly, we just don’t want it to end. Check out the abundance of quality artists and venues we’ll be planning for and let us know which shows you’ll be attending as summer slowly fades away.

It’s hard to save up for a sold-out show, but not including some of these heavy-hitters in this list would be a big mistake. If you manage to find a ticket for sale to any of these shows, jump on them ASAP, because they’ll be some of the toughest to find. Flux Pavilion’s Northwest return, with support from bass music veteran 12th Planet, at Foundation Nightclub on September 18th is sold out, as is Gareth Emery’s Open-to-Close set on October 24th. Over at Q Nightclub, Gessafelstein’s DJ set, taking place on November 12th, is already sold-out as well.
