6 Podcasts Every Dance Music Fan Should Follow

[divider]THE HOT SH*T – Pretty Lights[/divider]

While the DMNW crew anxiously prepares for our mass trek to Shambhala Music Festival next month, episodes of The HOT Sh*t from 2015 headliner Pretty Lights are on repeat. We’re very appreciative of the fact that there’s plenty to choose from, with more than 180 hour-long episodes currently uploaded to Soundcloud. You can catch the live-show each Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT on SiriusXM’s Electric Area, or wait a month or so for the mix to make it’s way to the rest of the Internet.

Always full of the funkiest beats from the man himself, and great friends like GRiZ, Big Gigantic, Flume, Michael Menert, and many more, the reasons to follow Pretty Lights podcast are as obvious as they are bountiful. Never a dud (how could you with that discography), The HOT Sh*t backs up it’s name with fire tunes week-in and week-out. Including it in your weekly rotation is bound to increase productivity and the amount of times you longingly glance at the clock waiting for it to be 5 p.m.

[divider]NEVER SAY DIE[/divider]

A label that is doing big things in all areas of bass music, Never Say Die’s volumes of mixes are always at the top of our weekly rotation. Whenever there’s a need for a quick, effective injection of high-end bass, Never Say Die hits the spot. The long-list of NSD label-mates who’ve made their way into the series reads like a bass-heads dream festival lineup. For example, a quick look at the last handful of NSD shows features Eptic, heRobust, Megalodon, while a longer look back includes headliners like Zomboy, Cookie Monsta, and MUST DIE!.

[divider]NEST HQ[/divider]

Nest HQ, a Skrillex & Co. creation, is one of our consistent go-to’s for great music from up and coming artists. Rather than solely utilizing the platform for artists on his very own OWSLA label, NEST HQ is a free-release imprint that’s become a gold-mine for high-quality tunes. Their 30-minute mini-mixes always end far too quickly, and their lengthier guest mixes are just as great. The best part? How often the mixes are uploaded. We’re treated a guest mix each month, with past artists like Zeds Dead, Nite School Klik, and Dr. Fresch, and a minimix each week. After a quick perusal of Nest HQ’s Soundcloud, it’ll quickly become one of your favorite places on the Interwebs.
