Pasquale Rotella announces Beyond Wonderland will return to ‘Pacific Northwest’ in 2020

In a surprise statement, Pasquale Rotella announced late today via Instagram that his company, Insomniac, will be bringing Beyond Wonderland back to the Pacific Northwest for the first time in almost a decade.

The first Beyond Wonderland held in Washington State took place at WAMU Theatre in 2011. Notable artists on the lineup included David Guetta, LMFAO, A-trak, Porter Robinson, and Gareth Emery. Beyond Wonderland marked Guetta’s first appearance in Seattle.

At this time, no additional details are available, including where or when the festival will be held. The timing of the Beyond Wonderland announcement coincides within hours to news that USC Events’ Lucky festival in March has been cancelled. It is unclear how the two, or last week’s news that Paradiso’s future may be in question, are related.

Beyond Wonderland has previously been hosted in various locations across the West Coast including Seattle, San Bernadino, and Mountain View, typically spanning one or two days. As the festival continued to grow and cater to a growing audience, it branched into two festivals: Beyond Socal and Beyond Norcal / Bay Area.

Beyond Wonderland

Beyond Wonderland’s focuses on the themes of the tale of Alice’s adventures within her psychedelic storybook about Wonderland. SoCal Beyond events can feature up to six stages of electronic dance music artists with genres like house, trance, dubstep, drum & bass, and hardstyle.

There is no doubt Insomniac intends to bring a diverse and exciting event. Readers can expect cutting-edge stage production, art installations, and a colorful crew of dancers and performers.
