Matthew Dear’s side-project Audion Releases “Motormouth”

Matthew Dear returns with first single release from his alias Audion, since 2009. The track is called Motormouth and will be available for purchase October 5th via Spectral Sound. This techno-house tune bangs steadily with repeating, nervous synth melodies while air sirens go on blast in the distance. Chopped, screwed, and warped vocals fill every empty space in this track, taking control of the listeners focus, dulling whatever part of their brain says dancing isn’t acceptable in public places. Then, when all hope seems lost, the beat goes ape-shit, expanding the scope of the track even further. This song could get anyone raging on a dance floor, for enjoyment purposes or for fear that it might be their last day alive on earth. Abstract sounds from laser tabs takes the reigns of this song towards its eventual comedown, finally giving the listener time to exhale.

Motormouth is one of the two new tracks on Audion X, Dear’s 18-track, career-spanning Audion compilation, out December 10. (The other new track is Sky.) There’s also a new Audion LP due out in spring 2014, which will be accompanied by a tour.
