Powermitten Remixes Our Childhood With Banana Phone

Friends, let us go on a journey. Think back to the pure unadulterated joy that came from listening to the silly nonsense that was your favorite children’s song. Go way back to Kindergarden or Preschool if you can. Feel that smile coming across your face as you take yourself to a time when you were perhaps wearing footie pajamas on a Saturday morning dancing around in your living room? Okay fine, for some of us that was just this last weekend, but regardless, it is imperative that you stop what you were doing and listen to the awesomeness that is the remix of Raffi’s Banana Phone brought to us by none other than Seattle’s own Powermitten.

Powermitten is somewhat of a local hero thanks to the childlike joy he inserts into his tracks. Our favorite Seattle radio station C 89.5 often features his music, especially when the equally whimsical Richard J. Dalton is spinning. Luckily for you they can be listened to online no matter where you are. Sometimes, as is the case with Banana Phone, that child is 5 years old, in some cases it is more of a rambunctious 13 year old boy for both Richard and Powermitten. Powermitten’s take on Banana Phone retains some of the jazzy piano of the original while mixing in an irresistible blend of house and happy hardcore that makes it impossible not to put the song on full blast and dance around one’s living room. Go ahead, put on your footie pajamas and turn it up, we won’t judge you.

Lizzy has been raving since the wee age of 14 after being grounded for a month for having rave fliers in her bag. Like her other love, snowboarding, what was supposed to be "a phase" has become an essential part of her life and she is excited to see a new generation developing the same love.
