Bass Coast Unveils 2016 Theme That’s Good as Gold

As we count down the days to the return of Bass Coast we’re introduced to this year theme… GOLD. The intimate, 3,500 person, arts and music festival held in Merritt, British Columbia returns for its 8th year and has shaped up to be another banger. After the full release of its 2016 lineup we’ve been anxiously counting down the days for our first Bass Coast experience.

Each year, the theme is used to set the tone for the weekend as well as the design for the Main Stage. Last years theme “Tentacular;” a combination of the words “tentacle” and “spectacular,” could be seen all over the festival grounds and we expect the same for 2016. While Gold could really lead us to a multitude of possibilities, we can assume this year’s festival will be dripping in all things gold. The community driven event made up of artists, producers, and creators thinks promise to once again provide its attendees with a memorable weekend.

There’s sometime to be said about an event that has stayed true to it’s roots despite having grown year after year. From it’s humble beginning of only 400 people, organizers Liz Thomson and Andrea Graham have managed to curate a festival that showcases some of the best bass music the scene has to offer. Since day one the driving force behind the event has been its community, and with the support of 1000’s, Bass Coast continues to grown in recognition as being one of the must attend music festivals.

With so many festivals to choose from each summer, and the rising popularity of the dance music scene, Bass Coast is a welcome addition to our calendar. Tickets for the 2016 edition have sold out in record breaking time, but we would still encourage the diligent and motivated to keep an eye, or two open for a spare ticket. Be sure to keep an eye out for the DMNW crew as we’ll be moving and groovin’ all weekend long. And fear not friends, those who are unable to attend will have a chance to catch up with us again at Shambhala. See you on the dance floor!
