Though the Bacon Ball continues to grow, it (hopefully) will always remain at its core what it has been about from the beginning. “It’s an event where an amazing, welcoming and ever-growing group of people from all walks of life come together for an awesome time, and also bacon, ” said Joshua Burson, an organizer of the Bacon Ball and member of the DJ duo Rare Club.   “It’s the strength of everyone coming together that makes these nights so special,” he added.  The hope is that more people step forward and share ownership of the event and they continue to have a positive impact.

Though as amazing as this party was, with hot and sweaty dancing until 4:00 am, we can’t help but wonder what the impact of sharing this event will be.  Will it take away the underground charm when more people know about it?  And at what point do we say it’s gotten too big or too mainstream?  Is it inevitable or can we still keep the dream of the 90’s alive in Portland?

First gig in the music industry was as a low power FM broadcast radio DJ in 1996. First concert was Blink 182 with Bush and Filter in 1999. First electronic show was Benny Bennasi in June 2011. We've come a long way, baby.
