DJ Carnage Teams Up With Seattle-based Breaux For Remix

The master of the festival trap remix is back at it again, and this time he’s brought in some help from the Northwest. DJ Carnage teams up with Seattle-based teenage-producer and DJ Breaux to create a ‘Festival Trap VIP’ for his original track Mara.

The remix of the track feels like a quicker-paced cousin to the original, building efficiently and quietly only to erupt to the shouts of ‘LA MARA’ (Spanish for ‘the gang’) before each drop. The fact that it is a remix becomes clearer after the drop, as Carnage and Breaux somehow manage to make time stop completely before the beat picks up again. And not only does it pick up, the beat blasts the listener forward at a rate that seems ungodly.

But the the real moment of brilliance comes once the listener is waiting for the second ‘LA MARA’ chant, which never comes. Instead, the audio from a fight video that went viral late last year, is used. Rather than ‘LA MARA’, the drop is signified with a shout of ‘SHARKEISHA’. Audio from the video is also used at the end of the track. The change is hilarious to anyone familiar with the video and the news it has made. The remix is further proof of Carnage’s ability not only to produce enjoyable music, but to have fun while doing it.

The enjoyable tracks provided by Carnage are great, as is following him on social-media. Known for giving love to his Chipotle Gang on Twitter and putting his feelings out for everyone to see on Facebook, Carnage is a ‘fans first’ DJ and producer.

Breaux was hopefully taking notes when working with Carnage, as he has had an increase in attention paid to his social media lately. Stories appeared last week speculating that DJ Snake had a ‘similar sounding’ remix to Breaux’s trap remix of Mercer’s remix of Breathe by The Prodigy. Breaux quickly took to his social media to quell the stir before it could get out of hand.

Breaux takes to Twitter to let the world know that DJ Snake hasn't snaked his beats.

If this latest track is anything to go on, Breaux has a bright future as yet another up and coming Northwest dance music artist in 2014. Check out his Soundcloud for more tracks and a free download of his festival trap VIP remix of Mara with Carnage.
