‘Enormous: The Gorge Story’ set to premiere across North America

A project DNMW’s tracked since its inception, ‘Enormous: The Gorge Story,’ hits North America in April. The indie documentary of the world-renowned Gorge amphitheater premieres in over 300 theaters in the United States and Canada. For the past five years, filmmakers Nic Davis and Tim Williams have explored the tale of the venue. After much work, including a Kickstarter campaign, ‘Enormous’ is finally cleared for the view of the masses.

Humble beginnings at the Gorge

‘Enormous: The Gorge Story’ began as an unlikely attraction, tacked onto a nearby winery. Rural community members initially doubted its ability to reel in big ticket artists, which has grown to host some of the most famous musicians of all time. ‘Enormous’ particularly draws on the narratives of Dave Matthews, the lead guitarist from Pearl Jam, Steve Miller, and Jason Mraz. Recognized in the EDM community for festivals like Paradiso and Bass Canyon, anyone who has attended an event at The Gorge Amphitheater has garnered a special memory. Check out the new trailer below:

Exclusively shown for only one night on April 28, this is the best opportunity to witness the fruition of effort. Following a popular reaction from the first public showing in Seattle in May 2019, we’ve waited for the wide release ever since. Unique to the full-length film premiere, ‘Enormous’ also includes interviews with huge artists Phantogram, Portugal. The Man, and Hozier. Additionally, five mini documentary episodes about The Gorge will also air- including the obligatory blooper reel.

EDM artists pay homage to the legendary venue

Arguably no other venue exists that holds so much pride to the Pacific Northwest, which is part of the reason why we’re so excited for this premiere. EDM artists have also nodded to its significance, like Jason Ross and Dimibo’s The Gorge track released early 2019. After Slander and NGHTMRE took the stage under Gud Vibrations for the Alchemy Tour, Slander posted this on Instagram, declaring “every show we have done has led up to this moment.” The cultural significance and natural beauty of The Gorge can’t really be overstated, and we’re glad the EDM community feels similarly.
