Five FreakNight 2014 Acts You Shouldn’t Overlook

[divider]OMNIA [/divider]

A true rising star of trance, Omnia is an Armada Music label treat that we can’t wait to unwrap. The self-taught Ukranian, also known as Evgeny Smirnov, will be making his debut in the Northwest at the annual fall event. The 27-year-old blends progressive & trance sounds while imprinting his specific stamp on each and every tune or mix. He caught on to the greater dance music scene in 2011 and hasn’t slowed his rapid rise since. Similar to the growth we’ve seen with fellow Eastern European artist Arty, Omnia is utilizing his relationship with Armada boss and dance music legend Armin van Buuren and is quickly becoming a must-see artist when he comes to a venue near you. Take the chance to enjoy his Northwest debut at FreakNight 2014.

Performing at the ‘Carl Cox & Friends’ stage along with a great handful of tech house artists, J. Phlip (pronounced J-Flip) will be representing the Midwest at FreakNight 2014. A native of Champaign, Illinois, J. Phlip (aka Jessica Phillippe) turned a 19th birthday purchase, a mixer and two belt-drive turntables, into a thriving career. Although she has studied Engineering, J. Phlip has followed her passion for music to Chicago, San Francisco, and beyond. Drawing from the indomitable house influence from the Windy City, Phillippe adds an energetic touch that is as contagious as it is unique. We’ll be fitting her into our schedules for FreakNight, and you should too.

“Jessica is one of those rare, gifted DJs who I love to listen to. I can fully attest to her skills on the decks as I have travelled on tour with her from the UK to Spain to Germany and beyond. I promise she can hold her own with anyone I have ever heard play on any stage.”-Dirtybird Records Owner Claude von Stroke

[divider]KRAFTY KUTS[/divider]

Brit Krafty Kuts is the icing on the diversity cake that is the FreakNight 2014 lineup. Also known as Martin Reeves, Krafty Kuts has utilized his history as a record store owner in Brighton during the 90s and become an international award winning DJ. Transforming his massive amount of musical knowledge into an ability to span genres with ease, Krafty Kuts is the producer/DJ that every artist aims to be when they decide to follow their dreams. His passion for music and his craft makes itself evident in every performance and his technical skill is a sight to behold. Witness one of the most talented and passionate artists at FreakNight 2014 in Krafty Kuts.
