Eminem once said “Nobody listens to techno” in one of his tracks. He most likely used that term because that was the encompassing term for electronic music back in the day for people who didn’t listen to it. For fans of the music, it has always been EDM . Still, people refer to the entire genre as Techno music. Techno is actually a sub genre of the EDM world. It originated out of the Detroit underground EDM scene (which makes Eminem’s statement kind of ironic). The general styling of techno is a revolving and repetitive instrumental music with a continuous beat.
