Diplo dazzles at Seattle’s Higher Ground Festival (DMNW Review)

Disco Donnie presents and Upper Left hosted another electrifying event outside of the Space Needle in Seattle Center! Diplo, Bob Moses, and others rocked the Fisher Pavilion beneath the Space Needle. Last weekend, Seattle Center played host to Day In Day Out, and for Higher Ground the venue served as a lovely backdrop for a whole day of bouncy house music!

Solardo, J. Worra, VNSSA, Jaded, and Frida K rounded out the rest of this stacked lineup on a beautiful Sunday in Seattle. Diplo continues to make an annual appearance in our rainy city, with his last show taking place at 2022’s Capitol Hill Block Party. Diplo reminded us of his OG status in EDM, and continues to churn out bangers. As Major Lazor he recently released the song Number 1 with James Hype, which was awesome to see live!

By the time J. Worra took the stage most of the main lawn was filled with attendees grooving left and right! Some of our highlights were watching Diplo throw out an endless supply of t-shirts, and watching all of the different group’s vibe to the beats. We also loved hearing Bob Moses drop their collab with Hayden James Do You Want Me, and J. Worra dropping so many tech house hits.

We were impressed by the production and sound, especially the stage design for an outdoor show in Seattle! The vibes were similar in terms of size and organization, and we loved how chill it was all around! We moved quickly through the security lines, and easily found bathrooms, water stations, and shaded areas to side on the side. VIP attendees could view the stage from an elevated area in the back, but it was easy to get a good view of the stage from anywhere inside.
