DMNW’s pick for up-and-comer of the month: Lick

We first heard of this artist from the beloved DJ/Producer Whipped Cream. Whipped Cream collaborated with Lick on her July 5 release of The Greatest. Lick is a bass influenced artist with enough “WTF” moments to light up an entire carnival.

So far a majority of Lick’s releases have been featured on Deadbeats. The duo behind Zeds Dead signed Lick after hearing his first SoundCloud release, his Stranger Things remix. Immediately afterward Lick proved himself with a November 2017 single on Deadbeats.

Next the Los Angeles producer completely hit a home-run with his Dimension EP released in February 2019. Six short months later Lick geared up and released his 11 track Dark Vibe Order album. This August album is named after the gimmick that he has crafted for himself. Lick has certainly crafted a dark and energetic vibe

There are no filler tracks and the variety is key. Lick combines different tempos, a couple of lyrical tracks, and multiple genres to keep the dark vibe flowing. Lick is just what we needed when we were searching for new music this past weekend. Press play. If you like what you are hearing search him up on your streaming service of choice!
