Get Ready: The Official DMNW 6-Point Lucky Festival Checklist

It seems like only yesterday that Lucky 2016 was announced, yet here it is, sneaking up on us! Since we’re in the final stretch, it’s time to make sure you have everything you need to make sure that you have the best and safest time. So here is the official DMNW Lucky Checklist!

1. Place to Sleep

If you or your friends don’t live near the Tacoma Dome, you may want to look into booking a hotel for the night. Bonus: You don’t have to worry about driving home after the event with other drivers that may not have made safe choices. We want you to be safe, so knowing where you’ll end up at the end of the night ahead of time is a very important part of the plan.

Since we’re getting down to the wire, many hotel rooms near the venue are booked. Luckily, not everything has been spoken for yet, and there are still plenty of options a cheap cab fare away.

2. A Safe Ride

Whether you need to get to your hotel or all the way back home, please make sure you have a safe ride there. This includes a designated driver, a cab, a Lyft, Uber, or one of USC’s Shuttles. If you’re having a hard time finding your friends or your ride at the end of the night, go to the Information booth or find a Conscious Crew member, and they will make sure that you get back to your destination safely.

3. The Perfect Outfit

While it’s totally your prerogative to show up to Lucky in a t-shirt, that doesn’t mean you have to. Or if you do go that route, there are plenty of fun accessories that you can use to jazz up your outfit. Check out our full guide to Lucky outfits and accessories, though we encourage you to come up with your own ideas as well. We love seeing your creativity shine in your festival outfits!

4. Place For Your Stuff

As always, lockers will be available, and a limited quantity are available with charge stations inside. If you’re more of the hang-on-to-your-stuff type, be sure that your bag fits regulations for the event. Per the Rules & Safety section, bags must be clear and no bigger than 12x12x6 inches. We’ve found a of couple options that fit regulations that are Prime eligible (aka ship in two days). Otherwise, USC brand clear backpacks will be available for sale at the USC merchandise booth inside the venue.

Mini backpack (10.5 x 8 x 3 in.)

Tote bag (12 x 12 x 6 in.)

5. What Goes in the Bag

When it’s finally time to go to the event, make sure you have your ticket and valid ID to get in the door. If you’re taking the shuttle make sure you have your order information easily accessible on your phone, and your ID as well. You may want to bring an empty water bottle to fill up at one of the many free water stations, or you can purchase one inside.

Speaking of purchases, make sure you bring some cash for water, food, or items from vendors. Ladies, we don’t think you need it, but you may want to bring makeup to touch up and if you do, make sure it’s sealed. That goes for chapstick as well, make sure it’s sealed upon entry so if you end up kissing any Irish you can be ready. If you like to trade, don’t forget to make some kandi for any new friends you might make at the event.

6. Get Healthy, Stay Healthy

In the weeks, days, and hours leading up to Lucky, make sure that you’re taking good care of your body. Make sure that you’re feeding yourself nutritious food and hydrating. While at the actual event, please keep an eye on yourself and others. And if you need any help, find a member of the Conscious Crew.
