Minnesota Gives Us The Low-Down On His One-Of-A-Kind Mind Machine Tour

Get excited bass fans. Dubstep extraordinaire Minnesota is about to make his triumphant return to Seattle this week at Foundation for his Mind Machine tour that is indeed sure to be one for the record books. Christian Bauhofer, best known by his fans as Minnesota, is a producer and DJ from Santa Cruz that has been spreading his heart-thumping bass and energetic performances across the country. This marks his third time in Seattle alone this year, so third time is the charm right?

Seattle is one of my favorite cities period, so whenever I get a chance to play there, I jump on it. Last time I played at Foundation was with KOAN Sound and I think people really dug that lineup because we both produce bass music that is on on the weirder end of the spectrum. The lineup this time is a similar vibe so i think people will really dig it.

We are of course more than a little excited to have him back, and without a doubt bassheads from all over the area are in for a treat. Minnesota is naturally one of the most innovative, young electronic producers to come out of the West Coast bass music movement. His sound differs from the various subgenres of EDM, but truly continues to grasp onto the origins of dubstep and creates a truly unique sound that separates him from the rest. Any time an artist returns to Seattle after just a few months, it’s natural to be curious as to what will be different this time around.

I’ve been working hard the last month to nail down a really solid set that incorporates a lot of my tracks along with a bunch of different tracks by other artists in various genres. I’ve spent countless hours digging on Soundcloud for new artists and songs and I have collected a lot of really cool new tracks to mix into my original productions. This is the most time I have ever spent focusing solely on my live set, so hopefully it shows!

When asked specifically about his new Mind Machine tour, Minnesota mentioned that “this is the most excited I have been for a tour.” With a “3D mapped lighting rig” and “a hand-picked support lineup,” needless to say it’s going to be a unique performance in line with Minnesota’s one-of-a-kind musical style.

To celebrate Minnesota’s return to Seattle, we will be running a special scavenger hunt that could get you 4 hard copy tickets into the show on October 15th! For anyone feeling a tad less adventurous, you can also enter to win tickets here. Stay tuned and be on the lookout from Dance Music Northwest this next week to see how to enter. Of course tickets are also on sale through the official event page, so get them now while you can!

Lover of all things electronic. As a previous lead singer her music roots run deep and appreciation for all genres and artists runs high. She can be found dancing and singing along to the likes of Alesso, Hardwell, and Dash Berlin. Most awkward EDM moment? Watching Borgore sing karaoke.
