PNW colleges take over Up and Up Festival with TroyBoi

The spring contest for Up and Up Festival is over. The consensus? The pacific northwest loves dance music and TroyBoi.

Up and Up is a competition between colleges to bring a headline artist to their school. Students have months to market the event to their community and 48 hours to pre-purchase tickets. The schools with the highest number of ticket sales win a performance from a dance music artist.

This year, Oregon State University, the University of Oregon and Washington State University all won the Up and Up Festival. OSU came in first place and won by a landslide.

The team leads shared their strategy on the big win with us.

“As a team, our marketing strategy was to connect with the OSU community and spread the word about how much fun a Troyboi concert in Corvallis would be since we usually don’t get the opportunity to host events in town. We utilized our big team of 10 ambassadors to spread the word via social media and word of mouth to become the thing that everyone was talking about on campus.” Dari Edwards, Oregon State University Ambassador

See below the dates of the TroyBoi shows.

Oregon State University- Benton County Fairgrounds on 5/2

University of Oregon- McDonald Theatre on 5/1

Washington State University- Stubblefields on 4/30

Previous Up and Up headliners include Slushii’s, Alan Walker, and Gryffin- to name a few! Want your school to win the next contest? Follow Up and Up on Instagram to stay up to date on future competitions.

“Winning the Up & Up has meant the world to me, as I’m excited to be able to provide EDM’s pure ecstatic energy at Up & Up Festival 2020!” Tomer Vagner, University of Oregon Ambassador
