Get ready to rage off the grid at Eastern Washington’s Retreat

Say hello to a new festival in Eastern Washington! The Retreat is set to take place on the weekend August 29th in Ford, WA. The first-year festival will feature a wide array of artists from across the region, including one band, three hip-hop acts, and a slew of talented producers and DJs. If you’re looking for a festival that’s completely built around the rave community, look no further.

The Retreat will give local artists the stage they deserve while staying perfectly affordable. Early bird tickets are still available at just $20. The remaining pre-sale tickets will only cost you $25, and if you’re paying for entry at the gate you’ll only spend $30.

“We are putting together a large scale production for those people who cant afford to go to the bigger shows, while supporting our local scenes growth by support of local artists and performers on platform that they deserve like bigger festivals,” organizer Beau Howard told Dance Music Northwest.

Every single ticket includes your camping fee. Early entry will start on Thursday, but the main festivities will kick off on Friday, the 30th, at 2pm. Both Friday and Saturday will take you into the early morning, concluding at 4am each night. The festival features two stages with full production, with the goal of giving underappreciated, yet extremely talented artists a chance to shine.

“A lot of these artists are missed by bigger shows and festivals,” Howard noted. “Also many of these people have opened up for shows at an early spot, with out anyone there. We are trying to change that.”

Ravers who are looking for a truly off-the-grid experience that will allow them to be fully immersed in the music will love The Retreat, but campers should be sure to come prepared. The nearest town is about 30 minutes away and the venue will not have access to power or an ATM.

As you plan, make sure to bring all of your necessities for the weekend, including plenty of water, sunscreen, and all of the camping gear you’ll need to stay safe and comfortable. RVs are welcome at a rate of $30.

“This event isn’t about one person, or some crazy headliner — it’s about the music, the scene, the artists and the community.”
