Six Artists You Need On Your Bumbershoot Schedule

The forecast calls for rain, school is starting, and Labor Day is right around the corner. It feels like summer is already coming to an end, but we’re ready to celebrate the shift with hundreds of performances, laser shows, and of course the silent disco. Bumbershoot 2015 is fast approaching, and it can’t get here soon enough!

There’s so much to see and do, it’s hard to know what to see and where to commit your time. Though you can be sure we’ll be catching the big names like Ellie Goulding, Bassnectar, and Zedd, we’ve done some research into the lesser-known names on the list. Check out this year’s schedule, download the app and start building your own. (You can even turn on reminders that go off 15 minutes before your chosen sets so you don’t miss a thing.) In addition to your favorites, here are a few acts you may not know much about of that deserve a chance:

Lindsey Stirling has come a long way since the quarter finals of America’s Got Talent in 2012. She was named one of Forbes magazine’s 30 Under 30 In Music: The Class of 2015. Her video for Crystallize was the eighth-most watched video of 2012. You can expect to see a vivacious woman dancing around the stage with a violin, playing a delicious blend of  classical, pop, hip-hop, and (believe it or not) dubstep.

[divider]Emancipator[/divider]

Also known as Douglas Appling, Emancipator creates low-key beats that are somewhere reminiscent of Pretty Lights’ A Color Map of the Sun. With live samples that sometimes crackle like a record player, smooth instrumentals, and finger-tapping beats, it’s hard not to get immersed in the ethereal sound.  You’re in for some new wave electro soul that’ll have you bobbing your head in a state of serious zen.

[divider]The Floozies[/divider]

The Floozies are made up of brothers Matt and Mark Hill, and they crank out some seriously funky tunes. Last seen opening for GRiZ at the Showbox in May, you have a chance for redemption coming up this Labor Day Weekend. If you’re into GRiZ, Gramatik, or Big Gigantic, these are your kind of guys. They deliver a delightfully funky electronic sound that’ll have you dancing every minute.
