Prime may be a sound engineer graduate, but his true passion extends far beyond the technical aspects of music-making, describing that aspect of his talents as “a whole other thing.” While a technical education is “the most important thing…that can help you develop your skills,” there’s something to be said for having a natural feel for music to build on.
You’ll still have to have the basic feeling for rhythm and melodies, so I believe that’s something you’re born with.
If you tune in to his radio show Limitless Radio, it’s clear that Prime’s feel for these skills is more than a little natural, and that goes doubly for his live setup that we’ll see in the Northwest in just a couple of weeks.
