Winter is returning to the Pacific Northwest, and unfortunately for us it looks like it’s here to stay. The seemingly endless amounts of wind and rain are about to ruin your vibes for the next four or five months, and with no end (or sun) in sight, it’s already starting to hit us where it hurts.
Thankfully this corner of the world has some pretty talented regional artists, and a slew of capable promoters to keep us busy, while all kinds of shit storms brew above us the next few months.
But, just as our festival season ends, another one begins! Destinations like Australia, South East Asia, Central and South America have been making headlines for their own parties the last few years. One festival in particular is on a mission to bring the nastiest bass in the world to an ever growing bass community in Costa Rica.
Yes, Bamboo Bass Festival returns to the jungles of Jaco for their third time this February. If you thought the 2017 lineup was nuts, then check out what’s in store for 2018!!
While the big names always impress, and trust us we’re impressed (SpectraSoul! Yheti! Youngsta! Thelem!! Are you kidding?!?), we’re just as stoked to see even more PNW representation than ever before! This year includes over a dozen artists from BC alone (Pigeon Hole, Abstrakt Sonance, Mat the Alien, and Slynk, just to name a few), plus some other names you’ll recognize from our own little backyard. It’s clear that West coast sound we may take for granted is locking in on the world’s radar.
Returning for 2018 will be a few familiar aspects that last year’s attendees may recognize. The Sleeveless Records takeover is preparing even bigger and badder things, as they take over the main stage once again with the latest from the OG’s of bass. Also returning to action will be Vancouver’s Karmik. They’ll be bringing back their knowledge and skills to Bamboo after providing harm reduction in Vancouver’s East side year round.
Get your tickets today by heading to bamboobassfestival.com where you’ll find all the answers to your questions. If money is a bit tight right now, fear not! Bamboo Bass has provided a payment plan option for 2018, available for just $60/month! Take advantage quickly because payment plan options end December 1.
[well]Use discount code DMNW-HOOKED-ME-UP for a $20 USD discount that is applied to each festival ticket purchased![/well]
Or better yet, save yourself a bit of cash and get involved with making Bamboo Bass an even better place! There are still tons of ways to participate at the festival like general volunteering, media, producers & DJs, movement performers, visual artists, and painters!
Want to check out the vibes ahead of time? Keep your eyes peeled for the slew of Bamboo Bass pre-parties set to hit the PNW! So book your flights, grab your tickets, and reserve a bed because Bamboo Bass 2018 is only 3 months away! Come join us in the sun this February, and see you down in beautiful Costa Rica!!
