Costa Rica’s Bamboo Bass Is Once Again Heavily Repped by the PNW

Winter is returning to the Pacific Northwest, and unfortunately for us it looks like it’s here to stay. The seemingly endless amounts of wind and rain are about to ruin your vibes for the next four or five months, and with no end (or sun) in sight, it’s already starting to hit us where it hurts.

Thankfully this corner of the world has some pretty talented regional artists, and a slew of capable promoters to keep us busy, while all kinds of shit storms brew above us the next few months.

But, just as our festival season ends, another one begins! Destinations like Australia, South East Asia, Central and South America have been making headlines for their own parties the last few years. One festival in particular is on a mission to bring the nastiest bass in the world to an ever growing bass community in Costa Rica.

Yes, Bamboo Bass Festival returns to the jungles of Jaco for their third time this February. If you thought the 2017 lineup was nuts, then check out what’s in store for 2018!!

LEVEL UP!

While the big names always impress, and trust us we’re impressed (SpectraSoul! Yheti! Youngsta! Thelem!! Are you kidding?!?), we’re just as stoked to see even more PNW representation than ever before! This year includes over a dozen artists from BC alone (Pigeon Hole, Abstrakt Sonance, Mat the Alien, and Slynk, just to name a few), plus some other names you’ll recognize from our own little backyard. It’s clear that West coast sound we may take for granted is locking in on the world’s radar.

Returning for 2018 will be a few familiar aspects that last year’s attendees may recognize. The Sleeveless Records takeover is preparing even bigger and badder things, as they take over the main stage once again with the latest from the OG’s of bass. Also returning to action will be Vancouver’s Karmik. They’ll be bringing back their knowledge and skills to Bamboo after providing harm reduction in Vancouver’s East side year round.
