Christopher Lawrence at Fez Ballroom (Event Review)

[numblock num=”7.5″ style=”3″]Trance powerhouse Christopher Lawrence tore the house down for Mission Trance’s 3rd anniversary Party at Fez Ballroom. His charismatic and entrancing performance made for a memorable evening. [/numblock]

Portlanders crowded into Fez Ballroom to partake in Mission Trance’s anniversary party featuring the ever popular Christopher Lawrence. There was a ton of local support to set the tone for the night. Locals DJ Zoxy, DJ Droopy, NightCity, and Timmy amped up everyone with some trancy house beats that got people moving. Early in the evening the crowd was somewhat small but the overall energy was good.

Patrons crowded the dance floor off and on and as the night went on the venue slowly filled. It was however, certainly not a sold out night. As we walked around the ballroom we could see that there was definitely a strong mix of people in attendance. Regular patrons of Fez, trance and house fans, and of course those that seemed like it was perhaps their first visit. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the music though, which is all that matters! As the time drew nearer for the headliner to perform the crowd headed closer to the dance floor. As soon as Christopher Lawrence took the stage there was a huge smile on his face as everyone cheered and the music took its transition.

Christopher Lawrence is a world-renowned DJ, winning and earning multiple awards and accolades such as ranking 4th in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s of 2007 and was a preliminary Grammy nominee for his single “Renegade”. He is also a festival mainstay and can be found at the largest events such as Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival and Ultra Music Festival. Christopher Lawrence brought this grand festival experience and energy to Fez which had everyone ecstatic and gave an electric atmosphere to the night.

The best part of the night was that Christopher Lawrence actually took the time to greet and take photos with his fans, which is something that most artists will not do, so it was awesome to see that happen. We also noticed that the local Mission Trance family was giving away items such as shirts and stickers to attendees; really sweet bonus! It was definitely an amazing night and the overall mood was a calming and happy one.
