Last Friday night, Dr. Fresch packed Q Nightclub in Seattle to the absolute brim. Lines stretched down the block as hundreds swarmed in to see the bass house maestro lay it down. With support from Corrupt UK and Fame Sounds, the night thumped away with the heavy sounds of bass house.
For those of you who missed this show, we are so sorry. Dr. Fresch brought his trademark passionate energy to the booth, which adds so much more when you see the DJ also feeling it. Fame Sounds opened the night; a Seattle DJ who we have seen a few times opening for other big name artists including Dirt Monkey, Cloonee, and many others.
Corrupt UK came on next, and has been on Dr. Fresch’s tour across the US. Corrupt UK plays similar sounding bass house, releasing tracks across many high profile record labels including Night Bass recordings, Dim Mak, and New State Recordings. We are grateful for Dr. Fresch including this UK legend on his tour, and excited to see his music spread into the USA.
Dr. Fresch took the stage at midnight for his two-hour set, donning his signature hat and chalk-full of his infectious dance moves. The bass house doctor dropped some of our favorite bangers, including Kung Fu with Bijou, Down With The Sickness (Dr. Fresch remix), and of course the hit Gangsta Gangsta feat. Easy-E.
It was hard to find a soul that was not dancing or jumping up and down in the club, and the visuals were on point, amplified by Q’s five different projectors. The best moments of the night were when Dr. Fresch brought Corrupt UK back out for a b2b set. They dropped the filthiest Better Off Alone remix that we’re still trying to ID.
Q continues to prove its premier nightlife destination status in Seattle by consistently booking the biggest artist names throughout the year. This was a sold out show, and arriving late meant waiting in line for just over 30 minutes. Nonetheless, if you are looking for a club with an amazing sound system, reasonably priced drinks, true nightlife experience, and don’t mind being packed in tight, check out Q and their list of events here. The weather is also finally resembling summertime in the PNW, so plan for more bodies each weekend.
A heavy dose of bass house was just what the doctor ordered to keep up busy until festival season. Unfortunately, we are bummed that Dr. Fresch will not be joining Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge in 2023, despite playing there the last two years. Instead, he will be headlining Electric Forest in Detroit, MI on June 24.

Correction: A previous version of this article stated that waits time in line were around an hour. It has been amended to reflect that we waited in line for just over 30 minutes.
