Our ears and hearts are still ringing from the amazing night last Thursday at Q Nightclub! Mau P blew our minds, hearts, and eardrums, and we are so grateful that he traveled from Amsterdam to our rainy little city in Seattle. Read the full DMNW review of the show below.
Openers Joed, Cece, and Tony H set the stage for a wild night
Early attendees were in for a treat by the openers Joed, Cece, and Tony H. Joed b2b Cece opened the club up at 10pm: they set the vibes off right for the night and dropped some bangers early on! When Tony H took the stage after their 90 minute set, holy shit! He put on an amazing show. Tony H dropped a few tracks in his set that are still stuck in our heads, and the crowd was smiling and sweating by the time Mau P came on at 12:30am. These up-and-coming Seattle locals performed perfect opening tech house sets that got everyone pumped for Mau P.
Mau P brought the bounce to Q with worldwide hits, classic tracks, and unreleased remixes
Mau P, aka Maurits Westveen and formerly known as Maurice West, teased us with tech house bangers for the first 40 minutes before dropping his worldwide hit Drugs From Amsterdam. He closed out the night around 2:15am with an encore performance of the hit song. Mau P also made sure to play Gimme That Bounce and a few other songs that have been appearing in his recent sets. Some of our favorites included a remix of London Bass by Francis De Simone and a tech house remix of Roses by Outkast. He also teased a remix of Calvin Harris’s new song Miracles feat. Ellie Goulding, and even uploaded a video of him debuting the song at Q!

The crowd goes wild for ‘Mau Papi’
We were securely packed tight in the crowd, but fortunately had a great spot near the front. It was no easy feat to hold the spot for approximately 3 hours, no bathroom breaks! The crowd chanted Mau P’s name, and many affectionately referred to him as ‘Mau Papi’. Throughout his set, fans handed him gifts from the crowd but he refused to accept them. Mau P did not disappoint, and this night will stay in our hearts for a long time! Is Mau P here to stay as the new king of tech house? Will he ever drop his actual skincare routine? What song will he release next after Gimme That Bounce?
Q Nightclub reminded us it is Seattle’s premier nightlife destination. The club boasts an amazing Funktion One sound system and hosts some of the biggest dance music artists in the world. We are so grateful for Q to host Mau P, although it is hard to imagine him not selling out a bigger venue in the future, due to his up and rising stardom.
We cannot wait for Mau P to be back in the PNW this summer for Beyond Wonderland at the Gorge 2023!
