Excision’s seventh annual Thunderdome music festival is returning to the legendary Tacoma Dome on February 7-9, 2025. Dubstep DJ, producer, and owner of the prestigious events company, Excision Presents, Excision will bring some of the biggest artists and up-and-coming acts to Washington for this premier winter event.
Thunderdome will be three days of dancing, head banging, moshing, and rail riding in front of the most ambitious and impressive audio-visual setup in the PNW. Excision and his team have only improved and added more to their stage and lighting elements year after year, keeping us and other fans always excited to see what surprises are in store for us the next year.
Each year, the video wall has gotten larger and the lasers have become more numerous. Thunderdome 2024 featured the largest video wall ever seen at the Tacoma Dome and around 250 lasers circling the perimeter of the massive dancefloor. Excision Presents has optimized the Thunderdome for ravers’ comfort and safety, with water stations, bars, and merch tables placed at prime locations to enjoy a drink, refill water containers, or purchase our favorite artists’ merchandise without missing a beat.
New lineup brings diversity of genres
This year’s lineup has caused some contention in the EDM scene. Thunderdome 2025 emphasizes the diversity of genres more so than previous years’ focus of larger and heavier bass artists. For some, the change is seen as a refreshing opportunity to expand fans’ musical horizons. For others, this noticeable change of pace has caused friction with frequent attendees who are looking for the biggest and baddest of the dubstep scene.
Last year’s Thunderdome featured headliners Zomboy, Wooli, NGHTMRE, and a back-to-back performance with Excision, Svdden Death, and special guest Marshmello. This year’s headliners will be Space Laces, Peekaboo, and Flux Pavillion, a stark change of pace from previous years. This year will also bring in many artists who don’t stick to the classic bro step of years past. Freeform and melodic bass artists Effin, Gorilla T, Alleycvt, SoDown, Sippy, Levity, Space Wizard, and legendary Drum and Bass artist Hedex will be giving Thunderdome their unique brands of bass music.
Thunderdome will still be giving us plenty of heavy dubstep artists over the weekend with Prosecute, Perry Wayne, Kliptic, Emorfik, Drinkur Water, and Benda to keep this festival true to its roots.

Plan ahead for this year’s show
For returning or first-time Thunderdome attendees, there are a few things to keep in mind before heading to Tacoma in February.
First, it is imperative to have travel accommodations secured early. This includes travel to and from the festival from your home, hotel, or Airbnb. This can mitigate major difficulties as Uber, taxis, and other modes of transportation are busier and more expensive than usual. For those driving themselves, we always advise that you drive responsibly.
Next, prepare for cold weather each day while entering the venue. In previous years attendees faced extended time outside waiting for entry, especially on the first day of the festival. We recommend you bring a warm jacket or change of clothing as February temperatures will be low. Utilize coat checks or lockers for clothing items after you enter to minimize overheating or difficulty holding bulky items.
First-timers and veterans should check the Tacoma Dome website for bag, drink, and clothing policies, as they are known to change frequently. Policies on opaque bags, large liquid containers, makeup, spiked accessories, totems, and other items have changed from year to year. The last thing you want is to get to the front of the line for security to deny you entry and leave you stuck with a restricted item and no way to store it.
Lastly, maximize your enjoyment over the weekend by keeping yourself healthy. Hydrate every day, eat multiple nutritious meals, and get plenty of sleep to keep yourself energized over the weekend. Always be on the lookout for suspicious activity and health concerns. Notify staff or medical professionals immediately if there is an emergency.
