Gigantic NGHTMRE unveiled as headliner for Shambhala 2023

Shambhala Music Festival dropped a massive bombshell for their fifth – and final – headliner announcement before the full lineup is released next Wednesday. Gigantic NGHTMRE, the love child of Big Gigantic and NGHTMRE, will be headlining at Shambhala. We couldn’t be more excited for the trio to take the stage! Especially now that NGHTMRE has been teasing that the group has been working on new original music.

Tyler Marenyi, known by his moniker NGHTMRE, has been active in the electronic scene since 2014. He kicked off his career by remixing tracks from the likes of Tiesto, Skrillex etc. He started producing his own music, which ultimately led to him being signed by Diplo’s Mad Decent – and releasing his track Street on the aforementioned label. Two years after his career launch, NGHTMRE would find himself releasing Click Clack with LOUDPVCK on Skrillex’s Owsla label.

Duo Big Gigantic, comprised of Dominic Lalli and Jeremy Salken, have been in the scene since the aughts, dropping their debut album Fire It Up in 2009. They are no strangers to collaborative projects – Gigantic NGHTMRE being one of many for the dynamic duo. One especially notable such project is Big GRiZMATiK, whose other members are GRiZ and Gramatik. The duos most recent album Brighter Future 2 was released on their own imprint Big Gigantic Records in 2022.

This gigantic announcement comes swiftly after a barrage of head-turning headliner announcements over the past weeks. When Shambhala kicked off the headliner announcements with GRiZ we had to wonder who could possibly top it. Then the announcements swiftly ramped up in hype with RL Grime, ZEDS DEAD and John Summit. We knew their final announcement prior to the full lineup drop had to be someone really special, and wow, Shambhala really delivered on the hype.

Shambhala Music Festival takes place this July from the 21st to the 25th at the Salmo River Ranch. Tickets are still available for purchase here starting at $525 CAD with payment plans being available on all orders. Now that the headliners have been announced and we are on the cusp on a full lineup release – act now to get tickets as Shambhala Music Festival is 90% sold out now.

Are you looking forward to seeing Gigantic NGHTMRE at Shambhala Music Festival in 2023? What other artists are you hoping to see next week on the lineup announcement? Let us know on our socials and in the comments. Hope to see you on the dance floor!
