Fort Knox Five Returns With “Funk The World 42” Mix [DMNW Exclusive]

There’s no name more synonymous with the west coast funk scene than Fort Knox 5. With their name on nearly every festival poster, regardless of genre or crowd the festival attracts, and a long time staple at Shambhala Music Festival among others, this is a group that truly and completely needs no introduction.

Fresh off an electric summer and a grueling release schedule, our friends are back with a new mix! With the smashing success of the last Funk the World mix (released here on DMNW earlier this year), the boys are back with a stacked track list of unreleased funk bombers, classic originals, and some fire from their large group of friends around the globe. With licks from their vast collection of Fort Knox Recordings artists such as Thievery Corporation and of course their own originals. Plus tons of west coast material from such acts as Smalltown DJs, Stickybuds, Featurecast and more! Check out the electric new mix EXCLUSIVELY through Dance Music Northwest below!!

If you had any doubts about the level of funkiness these guys can give off, this knocks it out of the park. Tight mixing, amazing track list, and the right vibe, this mix will fit in at a raucous house party or just chillin’ out at home. It’s an all occasions mix for sure.

Next up on the agenda is a mini tour through British Columbia and Colorado for the holiday season. Plus a new tune out on Fort Knox Recordings (which we reviewed earlier this year!) with Danio Management legend and all around cool guy Stickybuds. Check out the tour dates below, and the tune right here!

Sat Dec 16 – Bloom Nightclub – Nelson, BC

Thurs Dec 21 – Smirnoff House Party @ GLC – Whistler, BC

Fri Dec 22 – Big White Mountain – Kelowna, BC
