Tinsley and producer Justin Hartinger have released Heart Attack, the lead single from Tinsley’s upcoming EP. It is available on all major streaming platforms.
Heart Attack features Tinsley’s precise, breathy vocal work sailing effortlessly above a groove just begging for repeat play. The layers of production on the track are downright pretty, showcasing Justin Hartinger’s continuing growth as a producer and the duo’s considerable talent as collaborating songwriters.
Tinsley’s vocal performance sits comfortably front-and-center in the mix, intimate and immediate, with plenty of room for swirling electric pianos, warm synths hits, and syncopated guitars. The faux-cell phone interstitial is tastefully executed and adds some emotional weight to the track’s subject matter.
Tapping into dance-pop sounds with synthwave styling is a home run for Heart Attack’s forlorn summer vibes. The duo smartly revisits the hook liberally, and it is satisfying every time.
We receive so much great music at DMNW, but rarely do we receive a track that could jump straight to the top of the Pop charts. Heart Attack is that track. We expect to hear club remixes sooner rather than later, and if Heart Attack is indicative of the quality of the duo’s upcoming EP, we can’t wait to hear the rest.
If you want to hear more from Tinsley and Justin Hartinger, they are playing a show tomorrow night (July 17) at Barboza. You can still score tickets here!
