Imagine Your Childhood Coming Alive With Pogo’s “The Trouble”

Pogo is Nick Bertke, a 26 year old Australian electronic producer who does things a little differently than you’re used to. Mashing together Disney movie clips and whimsical melodies, Pogo’s creations are a fusion of the best parts of our childhoods. His more popular works are “Expialidocious”, a re-work of ‘Mary Poppins’, and “Alice”, a chopped up melodic version of Disney’s ‘Alice In Wonderland.’ His work consists of recording small sounds, quotes, and melodies from famous films, and sequencing the sounds together to form a new piece of music.

Most of his pieces consist solely of the sounds he samples from those films or scenes – rarely does he use external sounds that aren’t from the particular film. Pogo is known for his light, playful works of art. It’s almost impossible to not smile and be flooded with images of our earlier days. His newest work of art combines our favorite movies from the 1990’s. ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘Peter Pan’…How many can you name? Flash back to the past and check out Pogo!
