Lately mainstream pop artists have developed an unhealthy taste for stealing their music. More specifically, dance music has become their go-to well for plagiarism. Most prominently, we’ve seen will.i.am take from the likes of Mat Zo, Quintino and Sandro Silva, lighting the internet ablaze with righteous anger. The newest incident though is far from surprising, involving everyone’s favorite hate-candy, Justin Bieber.
Bieber’s newest single, Rollercoaster carries with it a funky guitar, his typically unbearable screeching, and an all too familiar chord progression. Mirroring Eric Prydz’ unmistakable Pjanoo, it would appear as though whoever writes Justin’s music for him got a little lazy in a big way.
Maybe it’s an honest mistake, but when it comes to the pop diva that shirtlessly attacked Michael Woods’ tour manager, terms like “benefit of the doubt” tend not to apply. We’re fairly convinced that the Canadian heartthrob we love to hate deserves a phone call from Prydz’ lawyers in the very near future.
