Olle of Dada Life Has Cancer, Releases Heartfelt Statement

As you may recall, we only had one member of Dada Life when the Compound came through town. Well now we know why. As it turns out, Olle Corneér of Dada Life has been diagnosed with cancer. “The best kind of cancer” according to Olle’s recent Facebook post, citing “most people that get treatment become completely free from it.”

Having a brush with cancer can really get to you. Even a personality as huge as Olle’s was taken down for a short period. “After coming home from surgery I laid in the dark of my room, I felt completely numb. Darkness outside, darkness inside.” But when life knocks you down like this, it can really give you a knew perspective: “Now it’s like I see the contrasts clearer. I see what’s important and what’s not. Family, friends, of course. But also my large, dysfunctional family – you! I have realized how important all of you are.”

This new lease on life and new perspective has also given Olle a huge shot of creativity when it comes to making music. He has always had these tunes kicking around in his head after shows and actually produced some of them. Now he is officially releasing those tunes under another alias named Night Gestalt. Gestalt literally means form or shape, but is seen as an “organized whole that is perceived as more than the sum of its parts.” Just like how Olle feels about his fans.

Olle will be off the tour for the foreseeable future while he goes through and recovers from treatment, but hopes to be back at it in the new year. For right now Stefan will be doing the full Dada Life shows. We are awaiting word back from his management on further details, and we will keep you updated as more information becomes available. We at Dance Music Northwest wish Olle a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see him in full form. Get well soon Olle (and read the full statement below).

Phillip was raised on so many different genres of music, it has given him a unique perspective into the ever evolving music scene. Trance music began defining his life at the young age of 14, but thoroughly enjoys any type of music equally. He sees the music as an escape from the daily doldrums of life and says music can change a persons life in an instant pulling from his own experiences. His only goal in life is to share wonderful music with people and take electronic music to a higher plain with more accountability and creating a safer environment for his friends.
