Our top 3 favorite live streams of 2020

Over the course of the last seven months we’ve seen livestream concerts rise and fall. What are some of your favorite live streams from 2020? We’ve gone through the archives and picked our Top 3.

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly how many live streams we’ve witnessed in 2020. For some it was a completely new idea, while other DJs have been experimenting and working with live streams for years now.

The live stream process was brought to its peak in 2020. We’ve seen Ultra Music Festival live or EDC live streams and of course your favorite radio podcasts like ABGT and Louis the Child’s Playground Radio. The real winner for 2020 was the bedroom/studio/exotic location live stream.

After weighing in, our favorite live streams of the year are Porter Robinson, Rezz, and Marshmello.

Marshmello

Starting with #3 from the leader of the Mello Gang. This particular Marshmello set is nothing like his live shows. For this select set he dove headfirst into deep-house. Despite the deep house vibe this particular performance still felt honest and true to the Mello sound.  We can’t deny that Marshmello is able to successfully play all genres. On the mainstage his live performances are a complete showcase of Electronic Dance Music with a signature Marshmello flavor.

Rezz

The #2 on our list is the one and only Space Queen. No high quality screens, lights, or visuals are present. Rezz piloted a dark room and loud speakers to perfect her version of the live stream. We loved the minimal vibe from Rezz. The music was the most important aspect of her performance. Rezz is able to get away with a minimal set because of her high technology glasses.

Porter Robinson

The Secret Sky headliner takes our number one spot. We know that his entire plans for 2020 were erased, but keep an eye out for Look At The Sky to be released soon. The DJ/performer played the unreleased track as his grand finale.

We love how Look At The Sky plays on the “sky” theme from Secret Sky and Second Sky. Not to mention the Nature theme of Nurture. We’ve seen a water based song from Get Your Wish, A forest/tree environment from Something Comforting. It’s anyone’s guess when the air/sky element will be delivered to our headphones, but we will wait for this.

How do you feel about the Top 3 live streams of 2020 being crowned to Marshmello, Rezz, and Porter Robinson? Submit your own vote by reaching out to us on Facebook or Twitter.
