If anyone were to attempt an 80’s cover and turn it into a groovy, relaxed summer jam, we would say Late Night Alumni could successfully pull it off. And that is exactly what they did in the re-creation of When In Rome’s 1988 hit “I Promise.” Becky Jean William’s smooth, angelic voice is as lovely as ever, while the signature house groove of LNA’s production is full force, adding in some 80’s tribute sounds to reflect on the original. While the group is taking a short break due to Kaskade’s tour schedule and the birth of William’s second child, this remake is one they’ve had in mind for quite some time, and it will surely tide us over until their return. For now, get out your beach towel, groove to this jam, and you WILL enjoy your summer. We Promise.
