In case you’ve been living under a rock, Seattle’s C89.5 is the world’s longest-running dance music radio station. Since December 1969, they’ve been broadcasting electronic beats to music lovers across the Pacific Northwest. This humble station has been part of some major moments in dance music history—including being the first to break Blue (Da Ba Dee) by Eiffel 65 in the U.S.
And that kind of legacy doesn’t come easy. Over 80% of C89.5’s funding comes from listener donations and support from local businesses. That means every Sunset Session attendee plays a role in keeping the beat alive. With 100% of ticket sales going directly to C89.5, this event is more than just a boat party—it’s a celebration of community, music, and the people who keep it all going.
With the recent announcement that all federal funding for public media is being cut, your support matters now more than ever. As a result, C89.5 is set to lose 11% of its annual budget—over $175,000.
