Just when we thought our boy band days were long gone… Teen sensation One Direction has officially hit the dance club music scene. (We know what you’re thinking, if you’re anything like us.) But before you run and hide, let us just say that we, too, were skeptical – until we saw the words “Sevag Area-201 Remix” listed on the track. And if there were ever a trust-worthy producer to create a proper rendition of today’s pop anthems, it’s Sevag. What others are afraid to do, Sevag steps in and makes it happen. So this latest attempt, taking on the princes of pop, tells us all we need to know : Sevag is up for another major challenge, and the only “direction” this one is going is straight to the top. Listen to his remix of the boys’ track Story Of My Life below, and you, too, will find yourself shamelessly admitting your love for One Direction… but only exclusively through Sevag.

We’ve seen it with his remix of Sevyn Streeter and Chris Brown’s smooth R&B hit It Won’t Stop, and still to this day, Sevag’s remix of Adele’s Someone Like You is one of our favorite house grooves. And while still keeping the mood of the original in tact, Sevag has this innate ability to recreate the mood from another perspective – something that can really only be undterstood when listened to. However he does it, Sevag is not letting up, and continues to be one of the most stand-out artists of 2014 thus far – and he’s only getting started.
