Soundtracks: Snowboarding

[textblock style=”3″]At Dance Music Northwest it’s no secret that we’re passionate about the music we love. This means we don’t just listen when our favorite artists grace us with their presence.  Our music is always on, giving that much-needed boost to everything we do. Whether it’s working on the code that powers the site, preparing to face the day on our commute to work, riding our favorite mountains, doing menial chores, or creating beautiful artwork we all have certain songs that #elevate those experiences. These are those Soundtracks.[/textblock]

In the PNW we are blessed to have some incredible snow in our mountains from time to time. We are equally blessed to have an incredible electronic music scene that helps make the winter a bit more bearable when getting to the mountains isn’t an option. Whether you’ve grown up here or have been transplanted from somewhere else our mountains hold something for everyone. There are plenty of options whether you stick to the corduroy on the main runs or hike up and out to the backcountry.

Until the middle of February Mother Nature has been pretty stingy with her gifts.  This meant that the snow lent itself more to hard-charging park days than going big in the backcountry. With the recent blast of snow it’s great to be able to get after turns with more mellow beats that fit with surfing over big powder pillows. Spring may be almost here, but there is still plenty of joy to be had in the mountains before what will hopefully be a late end to the snowboard season. If you haven’t been up yet this year it’s certainly not too late. We’re sure that one of these tracks will inspire you to strap in and go play in the snow!

Lizzy has been raving since the wee age of 14 after being grounded for a month for having rave fliers in her bag. Like her other love, snowboarding, what was supposed to be "a phase" has become an essential part of her life and she is excited to see a new generation developing the same love.
