Spotify introduces new DJ curated playlist series, ‘Track IDs’

Just last week Spotify launched their latest playlist series, “Track IDs.” Named after the one thought all fans have while hearing an obscure, yet amazing track mixed by their favorite DJ: “Must.Find.Track.ID!” Rather than create playlists based off a DJ, Spotify is teaming up with world’s top DJs to help hand pick tracks themselves. That’s right, “Track IDs” co-curated playlists include tracks direct from the musical library of Aluna, Black Coffee, Carl Cox, Green Velvet and many more! The new playlists will feature dance and electronic music and span a wide range of styles and subgenres.

Not only will Spotify’s “Track IDs” playlists cover all BPM ranges, they’ll also help fans remove the guesswork of hunting down a mysterious track. From house and techno to electronica and chill, listeners will find original tracks from DJs as well as the featured artist’s favorite tunes. Whether it’s a track you’ve heard a thousand times but could never find, or an underground name on the rise, “Track IDs” will have it. Currently there are 23 different playlists available, with Berlin-based DJ Dixon being one. In Spotify’s own press release announcing, “Track IDs” Dixon spoke on what fans can expect from his personal playlist.

“It’s no secret the tracks I play are usually unreleased from whichever sounds I’m into at the time,” explains Berlin-based DJ Dixon. “Right now with the usual game on hold, this playlist feels quite personal. Of course there are the floor fillers in there, some from prior to lockdown, some that never have been tested on a dance floor. But I’m more curious to gauge the listeners’ response to the underdogs.”
