We can’t get enough NERO, and their set from the first weekend of Coachella 2015 was plenty of what we wanted. Featuring 14 tunes in the hour-long set, the British trio beautifully blended classics, new tunes, and unreleased tracks from their upcoming album. The album, Between II Worlds, is FINALLY due out on August 28th of this year, after years of waiting, and dozens of cryptic bits of information and news on the sophomore album from the trio.
Thankfully, we’ve been treated to four songs that’ll be on the album that have already been released: Satisfy, The Thrill, Between II Worlds, and Dark Skies. Their Coachella set has a Welcome Reality feel, and we’ll happily take that as a sign of great things to come from their upcoming album. Between II Worlds is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year, and if you’re unable to catch a NERO performance this summer, this set will do it’s part to tide you over until it’s released in late-August.

[highlight]Madeon[/highlight]
Another artist who’s utilized a recent album release to showcase his tunes and style on the biggest stages in dance music, Madeon lived up to the hype at Coachella this summer. The 21-year-old Frenchman’s debut studio album, Adventure, was released on March 30th and the praise still hasn’t stopped. There were plenty of high expectations for Madeon, who’s been releasing top-notch tunes since he was a teen in 2009. Fan-favorites like Technicolor, The City, and more made their way on to the album, which featured heavily in the stud’s stellar Coachella 2015 set.
Ranked by Billboard as one of the best sets of the entire festival, Madeon is catching the eye of more than just those in the dance music community. Here in the Northwest, we know what Madeon is all about, with his April 18th show at Foundation Nightclub selling out in no-time. While we patiently wait for his quick Northwest return, we’ll be enjoying his Coachella set regularly.

One of the artists we’re most excited to see at Paradiso 2015 this summer, Dutch EDM wunderkind Martin Garrix is impressing more and more everyday. His Northwest debut is just around the corner, and although he’s already tallied an impressive list of festivals and venues under his belt, we’re certain Garrix has never seen an animal like The Gorge. Even more impressive is the way Garrix has performed under the bright lights at these major festivals. With all eyes on him, and all critics ready to attack, the 19-year-old has done nothing but succeed.
With his recent set from Electric Daisy Carnival – New York, Garrix showcased his development on the decks. Kicking off the set with a ridiculous combination of heavy-hitting electro-house tunes, and perfectly placed a cappellas throughout, Garrix gets the party going right off of the bat and doesn’t look down. He also sprinkles in more than a few original tunes, as well as some IDs, including a collab with fellow Paradiso 2015 headliner Alesso. While we’re all daydreaming of hearing it at The Gorge mainstage this summer, join us in enjoying one of our favorite sets of festival season.

[highlight]Seven Lions[/highlight]
Northwest-favorite Seven Lions, also affectionately known as Seven Kitties, put together a classic set at EDC – NY that has us begging for his return. He’s twice performed at Lucky (2013 & 2015) and was also featured at Paradiso 2014, but we don’t care, we want more. Especially after listening to this set over and over. Fresh off of the release of his fourth EP, The Throes of Winter, this March, Seven Lions is in prime form.
The California-native managed to blend an eclectic selection of genres and artists, spanning W&W, MUST DIE!, Europe, Dillon Francis, and many more throughout his 24-track, hour-long set. Fitting them together in an incredibly fun and altogether quintessential ‘Seven Lions Style’, he also tossed in some of our favorite original tunes and a few IDs that have us ready for more live-sets from Seven Lions this summer. We know we can’t get enough Seven Lions, and when people ask why, we’ll show them this set.
