The M Machine Took Portland on a Magical Ride at Whiskey Bar PDX (Event Review)

[numblock num=”8″ style=”3″]The M Machine brought a refreshing vibe to Portland Wednesday night at Whiskey Bar PDX. Offering a roller coaster like ride that had everyone flying high on a musical and cinematic experience unlike anything that most have experienced before.[/numblock]

It was a typical dreary and damp Wednesday night in downtown Portland. However, those who were lucky enough to get inside Whiskey Bar PDX were in for a special treat. The beautiful DJ Tourmaline opened and brought awesome energy throughout her performance. Humbled by the crowds reaction throughout her time behind the decks, we could tell she was enjoying it just as much as everyone else.

The M Machine came on at about 11:45. The trio from San Francisco took everyone on a musical and cinematic journey that they’re well known for. What was so unique about this performance was the video production, at times featuring what could be described as a psychedelic adult cartoon movie. For the limited space Whiskey has to work with, it was quite an impressive visual show.

The musical journey that The M Machine took the crowd on was spectacular as well. They brought everyone up with their higher energy electro house tracks, such as Moon Song, and would blend this seamlessly with their soothing and thoughtful, slower paced indie dance tracks like Faces. After their set ended around 1am to everyone wanting more, M machine took some time to meet the fans for a bit which was great before Wolfkin closed this memorable night.

The M Machine brought a different vibe to Portland that was a refreshing change up from other performances at Whiskey. They had the harder style songs that got everyone going, but injected their less common indie dance flair which everyone enjoyed just as much. This was truly a unique, special night and we hope for an encore soon!
