2014 was a less than desirable year when it came to health issues for some of our favorite producers with both Stefan and Olle of Dada Life, Avicii, tyDi and others all having to cancel shows due to various issues. Unfortunately 2015 is starting off with the same tone, with Joseph Youngman aka Wolfgang Gartner posting on February 4, 2015 that “I am having cardiac issues that make it unsafe for me to be in that environment.”
We know touring takes an incredibly toll on the bodies of artists, between crazy hours, time zone changes, the actual energy required to perform on stage, and sleeping in a different place almost every night. We are incredibly grateful for the contributions Wolfgang has been able to make to electronic dance music and wish him all the best as he focuses on getting healthy again. Wolfgang Gartner’s health issues take priority over working and making more music and we hope his recovery goes well, and that the time off leaves him refreshed and renewed.
