7 Northwest Artists You Should Be Following Pt. II

[divider]ALEX BOSI – OLYMPIA, WA[/divider]

Representing Olympia, DJ Alex Bosi is everywhere when it comes to the Northwest dance music scene. Nominated for ‘Best Seattle Male DJ’ by DList Magazine for their third annual ‘Seattle Nightlife Awards’, Bosi is everything we love about great local acts. Working both solo, and as collaborative project FIRST CLVSS, Bosi has performed at Foundation Nightclub, Q Nightclub, Paradiso, and more. His work over at the 1230 Room in Olympia isn’t to be overlooked, and the relatively recent start of his ‘Six-Pack Podcast’ is a welcome addition to the Northwest’s stable of mixes from local artists. His blend of hip-hop and dance music is the perfect balance for any dancefloor, and we’re lucky to have Bosi dishing out Six-Packs in the Northwest.

[divider]AARON JACKSON – EUGENE, OR[/divider]

A breakout artist who is continually finding ways to expand his name and spread his UK house sound throughout the Northwest and beyond, Eugene’s Aaron Jackson is one of our brightest local stars. Performing at Nocturnal Wonderland last year, Jackson is getting called up to the ‘even bigger’ leagues and is playing at EDC Las Vegas this summer. He’ll also be getting married at the event, making it truly a weekend for the books. Jackson will have plenty of original tunes to show off, as he’s recently released two EPs. His mixtape series has also reached double-digit episodes, and we’re sure there’s plenty more to come.

He’s also working with Audiophile XXL, a sub-label of Audiophile Records focused on bass heavy house. Whether he’s searching through demos, remixing a track, or producing an original tune, Aaron Jackson is a Northwest artist going places, and you should be following him.

[divider]SIXFOUR – PULLMAN, WA[/divider]

An honorable mention on last year’s list, Pullman’s Sixfour has quickly become one of the top artists in Eastern Washington and is showing no signs of slowing down. The Washington State University Communication major released his latest EP, and first in quite a while, last month. The two-track work was another obvious show of improvement from Sixfour, also known as Derek Lombardo, who’s increasingly polished sound is gaining him more opportunities everyday.

He’s already performed alongside the likes of Felix Cartal, Adventure Club, Dieselboy, Beauflexx, and more, all while working to earn his degree. He’ll be featured on an upcoming episode of our very own Elevation Radio soon, and we can’t wait to see all of the bassy goodness Sixfour delivers.

[divider]BEAUFLEXX – SPOKANE, WA[/divider]

Another returner to our list of Northwest artists you should be following, Spokane’s Beauflexx is an Eastern Washington mainstay. A multiple-time winner of Spokane’s DJ of the Year award, Beauflexx definitely knows how to put on a show. Beauflexx has performed at festivals such as Resolution 2014 & 2015, Paradiso 2013 & 2014, and at countless venues throughout the Northwest.

He was vital in the booking of early-2015 Eastern Washington shows featuring HeRobust, CAKED UP, Infected Mushroom, and more with his event company, Partybros, while performing at those shows and more throughout the year. His role in the growth of the dance music scene, and doing it the right way, in Eastern Washington can’t be overlooked and we’re pumped to see what he has in store, not only for the rest of the year, but for the foreseeable future as well.
