7 Northwest Artists You Should Be Following Pt. II

[divider]POWER UP – SEATTLE, WA[/divider]

Brandon Noftsger, also known as Power Up, is a resident DJ at Foundation Nightclub that we’re always stoked to see on the decks for big nights at Seattle’s premier nightclub. With a knack for reading a crowd and playing the perfect song at the perfect time, Power Up has quickly become a Northwest favorite in the club scene. Working with Foundation Nightclub and USC Events, Noftsger is an important member of the local dance music scene. This year has included several great shows for Power Up, performing with Candyland, Will Sparks, Chuckie, and Feed Me. He has sets lined up at shows featuring Sound Remedy and Milo & Otis at Foundation Nightclub this summer, and we’re hoping to see him at a local festival sometime in the near-future as well.

While Austin, Texas-based duo Rubicon 7 may not always be in the Northwest, they’re always Northwest favorites. A member of last year’s list, and one of the top Northwest dance music acts in all of 2014, Rubicon 7 are a duo that are easy to like. Brandon Scott and Elizabeth Thompson made more than a few friends during their time in Boise, Idaho, and after they followed-up their Paradiso 2014 set with one of the best EPs of last year, they made quite a few more. Drawing even more fans in with their weekly ‘Under the Influence’ radio show, which can be heard live on the mainstage channel of Digitally Imported Radio every Friday at 10 a.m. and downloaded for free on iTunes, Rubicon 7 is the complete package.

[divider]RiON – SEATTLE, WA[/divider]

Seattle’s Ryan Ditch, also known as RION, is another local favorite who is embedded into the Northwest scene. Working with USC Events, RION finds himself performing at Foundation Nightclub, Q Nightclub, and even on C89.5 FM as well. He was the host of the third episode of the DMNW ‘Elevation Radio’ re-boot, and his blending of electro and tech house is a mix that’s guaranteed to get everyone moving. Although he recently announced, via his Facebook, that he’d be taking some time off from performances, RION is a Northwest favorite you should take time to see when you get the chance. Don’t fret, though, as the break is for happy reasons. Ryan is getting married in the Mecca of dance music, Ibiza, and will be out of the country for a month, enjoying life as a married man. Congrats, Ryan!
