7 Paradiso 2015 Sets You Can’t Afford To Miss

Although the trance selection at Paradiso 2015 may not have the numbers many would prefer, the group of artists attending certainly pack a punch. Joining dance music veterans Armin van Buuren, Dash Berlin, and John O’Callaghan, is possibly the artist Seattle’s trance family is most excited for: Ilan Bluestone. The young, London-based artist is the pride and joy of the famed Anjunabeats label and has dazzled the Northwest in the past. He was among the artists who were unable to perform on the cancelled second night of FreakNight 2014, but that didn’t stop him from delivering one of our favorite sets of the year.

As many will remember, the cancellation of FreakNight 2014’s second night opened up the city’s club venues to a host of potential bookings, which many took advantage of. Foundation Nightclub got the catch of the night, securing Bluestone’s talents, and he didn’t disappoint. Putting on one of the best sets at Foundation from all of 2014, Bluestone helped make a tough night as fun as it could be, and we’re expecting a similarly spectacular set at The Gorge this summer. Regardless of past shows, a chance to catch a great trance act like Ilan Bluestone at the venue of our dreams is never a bad decision.

Catapulted into the spotlight after her sunrise set alongside Skrillex at Bonnaroo last year, Phoenix-native Mija has continued to show everyone what Skrillex apparently knew long ago. Also known as Amber Giles, Mija followed-up her legendary B2B with a string of impressive mixes, sets, and tunes that’s put her squarely on the forefront of the wave of up and coming dance music artists. Whether it’s her performance at TomorrowWorld, her collab with Ghastly and Lil’ Jon, or her ‘Diplo & Friends’ mix, Mija’s showing the type of consist quality that’s going to make her a must-see artist at festivals around the world.

She’s the lone female artist featured on the Paradiso 2015 lineup, and if you try to fit her into a genre, just listen to a couple other of her works, and you’ll be put in your place. An up-and-coming artist who hopefully has plenty of Northwest stops in her future, following her debut in our corner of the country at Paradiso 2015. If you can’t catch her at Paradiso this summer, there’s another chance, as she’ll be part of the Full Flex Express alongside Skrillex and Diplo at Pemberton 2015.

[divider]DARRIUS[/divider]

A New Orleans-native who we’ll forever consider a local legend, Seattle’s DARRIUS is always must-see entertainment when it comes to the Northwest’s premier festivals. His sets are fantastic blends of everything ranging from trance to progressive to electro and everything in-between. DARRIUS is also featured on the stacked Das Energi Festival lineup, which takes place August 15th in Salt Lake City and includes acts like Kaskade, Flux Pavilion, Seven Lions, Andy C, Evol Intent, Late Night Alumni, and more.

We love seeing DARRIUS as one of the earlier acts at our local shows, because we can’t imagine a better way to kick-off a night full of incredible fun and memories than with one of our Northwest favorites on the decks. DARRIUS has a special place in the heart’s of Northwest dance music fans everywhere, and that includes DMNW. We were honored to have him feature as the first artist in our re-launch of Elevation Radio, and his mix was everything we could have hoped for. He puts in the work to help make our local scene as great as it is, is an incredible artist, and has proven his worth when it mattered most. DARRIUS is must-see stuff, regardless of the venue, and missing him at The Gorge is a Paradiso-rookie mistake.
