The Wreckage

When the Paradiso lineup dropped, Subsonic Drops announced that his performance at the Wreckage would be the last performance under the moniker. However, this doesn’t mean he’s done with trap and bass, as he’s planning on debuting his new project right after Paradiso. The local artist will be melding the worlds of trap and experimental bass.

Riddim artist Axel Boy has rose quickly in the scene with releases on MA Dubstep, and two of his tracks have been included in the UFK Playlist. Last week, he released Honey, Will You Goand its being lauded as ‘groovy’ and ‘insane’ by the DJ’s fans on the Soundcloud platform.

Monxx b2b P0gman happened for the first time last year and in an interview with Insomniac, the heavy hitters made it clear that they would be performing more b2bs in 2018. Monxx is quite possibly the most recognizable act in the riddim genre, and recently he collaborated with HeRobust on Giant Squiddim (available for free download), released on Insomniac Records. His partner, P0gman, is quite the force in the world of dubstep, and like many artists in the genre, found himself inspired by Caspa. The title of his latest EP, Drunk AF, is especially peculiar because at the time of it’s release he had been sober for a year.

This year edition appears to have no shortages for exceptional b2bs. Megalodon b2b Krimer are no exception, as both  artists are signed to Skism’s Never Say Die label, and have seen support from the likes of Excision, Skism, 12th Planet and so many more. Expect a hard-hitting set with loads of influences from other genres.

Florida native Midnight Tyrannosaurus has long been a fixture in the dubstep scene. He has garnered the support of many artists, including P0gman, Excision, Figure, Cookie Monsta, and more. Check out the samples from his latest album, The Underworld.

In 2000, Planet of the Drums formed to prove to promoters that the DnB scene has a huge following, and for that reason, it should be in the spotlight. The DnB portion of the group consists of AK1200, DJ Dara, Dieselboy, and their tunes are complemented by the vocal stylings of MC Messinian. The group’s recently released their Awakening mix, which will give you a good taste of what’s about to go down at the Wreckage stage.

Buku is heading to The Gorge for his first time and he brought a friend. We’re sure that the Minnesota b2b Buku performance will be spectacular. Robert Balosky, aka Buku, quickly rose to fame when Mad Decent’s head honcho Diplo took notice of his debut EP Janky. Naturally, other artists paid attention and that’s how the pair met. Buku’s track, Front to Back, held the #1 spot on Hype Machine, and the #3 spot on Spotify’s ‘Viral Top 50’. Interestingly, Minnesota just released his track Snake Charmer on his new label Outer RealmsCheck out the interview about the new label here.

Canadian bass producer Nathan Shaw, aka Ekali, was the first Canadian to go to the Red Bull Music Academy in Tokyo When famous rapper Drake used samples of Ekali’s Unfaith track, it fast-tracked the DJ’s rise to fame. At this year’s edition of EDC Las Vegas, Shaw teased a clip of his upcoming untitled release with HEKLER. We can only hope that his tweet about ‘trying new things at Paradiso’ is a reference to that track, because we definitely want to hear more.

Dutch trio Noisia are one of those groups that just can’t be limited to a single genre as they frequently dabble in DnB, Dubstep, Breakbeat, and House. Nor can they be limited to music production for the sake of live performances, as they have curated music for movies and video games. Most notable: their remix of Machine Gun for the Far Cry 3 trailer, two hours of tunes for DMC: Devil May Cry Reboot; Gran Turismo PSP, and their Tide track that was featured on Dance Dance Revolution 2. Seriously, check these guys out.

It didn’t take long for Denis Jašarević, aka Gramatik, to land a deal with Pretty Lights Music, after the release of his debut album Expedition 44. It was on that label that he released his #digitalfreedom EP, which was based around the theme of fighting against internet censorship. He left Pretty Lights Music in 2013 to debut his label LowTemp, which now features artists K+lab, Kotek, Beat Fatigue, and more.

English DJ and producer Troyboi has been huge ever since he released his first track on SoundCloud, firmly establishing himself a big name in the trap scene. His 2017 debut Left is Right was a 20-track album that had Billboard calling him a “beast”. Let’s not forget about his collaboration with Diplo on the memorable After Hours track with vocalist Nina Sky. In addition, the artist released an EP titled V!BEZ  in May of this year.

Portland duo Hal-V & Space Case started performing together in 2011 and they haven’t looked back since. The talented local act has performed at Global Dub Festival, FreakNight, Foam Wonderland, and this year we can (finally) mark Paradiso off their bucket list.

Fury and MC Dino frequently perform together at major events like Paradiso, The duo’s performances have been lauded as delivering “a natural pairing of hip hop tendencies with explosive drum and bass.” To see exactly what Travel Hymns was talking about, go no further than their most recent SoundCloud Release of Funktion April 2017.

Los Angeles duo Um.. believe in “creation without creative boundaries“. The Icon Collective graduates have mastered the true art of going with the flow and it shows in their entertaining performances. Check out their most recent track titled Nothing to Say and it’ll give you an idea of what to expect.

Christian Mochizuki, aka GRAVES, attributes his success to being in the right place at the right time. After working his way up the ranks in Kanye West’s team for his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, he eventually won a Grammy and then tried his hand at a solo career under the GRAVES alias. If you haven’t heard any of his music yet, check this track out.

Dubstep producer Kai Wachi is signed to the label Kannibalen, and while he hasn’t released a full-length album, he sure has put out quite a few bangers. The most recent of those is his Ichor EP, which blends riddim and trap and packs such a wide variety of genres that it’s hard to believe that it’s only 7 minutes long between two tracks.

Valentino Khan is one of those artists that ends up categorized under many genres, as he likes to experiment with anything from trap to moombahton. Two of his tracks in did particularly well on Billboard’s ‘Twitter Emerging Artists’ chart: Deep Down Low peaked at #1, and  Make Some Noise peaked at #50. Khan is known mostly through his remix work and releases through other artists like Diplo, Skrillex and Steve Aoki.

In February, Pendulum announced that they’d be releasing The Reworks album, a compilation of remixes of classic Pendulum songs featuring the production stylings of Knife Party, Grabbitz and more. Although, with Billboard reporting on MC Ben the Verse’s departure from the group, we’re not sure what to expect from this particular Pendulum set.

Belgian DnB producer Netsky has released three albums, two of which climbed to the #1 spot in the Belgian charts. His first two albums, Netsky and 2, were released through Hospital Records, however, he eventually departed the label to release his follow-up album 3.

The first single of G Jones‘ new album is dropping this weekend, and he just might drop Understanding the Possibility into his Paradiso set. He’s gained support from the likes of Bassnectar, Minnesota, and DJ Shadow. If you like hard basslines and unpredictable sets, you’ll like G Jones.

Eptic b2b Must Die! was born when Eptic released his debut EP, Like a Boss, which gained the attention of many notable artists such as Must Die, Excision, Fedde Le Grand, and more. Dubstep artists Eptic and Must Die! have been collaborating and performing together for some time now. Last year the pair released a collaborative EP titled Hyper Future, that you can check out here.

Feed Me is widely recognized as a legend of the industry, having released tracks in a variety of styles and genres. Het took a brief break from touring to focus on getting his label Sotto Voice up and running between 2013 and 2014. The first release on the label was his first full-length studio album Calamari Tuesday. Watch him close out the Wreckage stage on Saturday night.
