CAVE Releases First Track Off Threace

Meet CAVE, a psychedelic, mostly instrumental four man band. Their sounds are one flowing movement consisted of subtle guitar licks, light, airy synths, and guttural bass lines. The quadruplet finds an effortless synchronicity with one another while each still harnesses a sense of individualism. When they make a transition, every one of them falls in line flawlessly like a spacey, planet alignment. This makes a perfect foundation for CAVE’s new album, “Threace.” Set to be released October 15, the album sounds like a journey through funky space. Imagine looking out the window of a spaceship and seeing heavy bass lines and intergalactic guitar hooks cutting through the cosmos. Today, a track of the album has been released with a dazzling video that complements the interplanetary vibe CAVE creates. “Shikaakwa” is a droning, melodic tune–one that kids in the sixties would blow down to. The video, created by Nick Ciontea, creates a visual to do just the same.

“This music video came as an extension of what we had already established as CAVE’s live show over the course of 2013. The style known as “vector rescanning” or “raster manipulation” originated with the Rutt-Etra scan processor in 1972. But, with the technology rarely remembered and devices next to impossible to find, we used LZX industries and Brownshoesonly video synthesizers to “program” these signals and send them out to a vector monitor where it was “re-scanned” or filmed off the monitor screen.” – Nick Ciontea, Director

Now, until the release of “Threace,” begin your own space exploration with the dark, yet sparkling music video for “Shikaakwa.”
