Deadmau5 – Coelacanth

In recent months, deadmau5′ music has taken a turn for the minimal, veering away from the sound that’s made him a fixture in the electro house community. In the last 24 hours, he’s released two brand new tracks, “Coelacanth” and “fck a coelacanth.”  The former is a ten minute-long minimal epic, while the latter carries a bit more classic mau5 along with a heavy electro feel.

The emotionally raw sound of his releases this summer have been an intriguing to say the least, and many attribute it to his recent break-up with Kat Von D. Whether or not that’s the reason, it’s hard to deny that he’s tapping into some serious feelings when you hear for yourself.
