Genre: Indietronica, Electro-pop, Future bass (Curated by: Beatmatch)
Maxwell Prendergast of Issaquah, WA, defines his style as “music for the soul.” Inspired by artists luke Odesza and Mura Masa, metsä’s tracks typically pair happy pulsing beats with angelic vocals. With the upcoming release of his EP, The flowers in Our Hearts (release date unknown), we predict he’ll soon be a household name. When he’s not playing at Upstream, you can catch him performing around Washington, or opening for artists like Louis Futon.
Genre: Soul, Electro-funk (Curated by Upper Left)
Mike illvester, also known as Action Jackson, has performed as part of Seattle band Fly Moon Royalty for years. He’s a keyboardist, MC, and producer who recently ventured on a solo project. His self-produced tunes feature funk-heavy baselines, paired with soulful melodies and R&B lyricists. Some of his tracks fall on the chill-soul side of the spectrum, while others are full of electro-funk dance beats. We’re looking forward to his live set at the Upper Left stage.
