Wesley Holmes & FooFou Release Anticipated ‘Daybreak’ Mix

Almost half a year ago, Seattle house DJs Wesley Holmes and FooFou (Fouad Masoud) spun a memorable set. Yesterday, they released their collab “Daybreak” mix. According to the guys, “This mix captures the range and feel of the original set and features favorites of both djs from 2015.”

So the mix came about from doing a B2B set at Studio 4/4. This was back in April for the Klangkarussell show. We had a lot of great feedback from people. For me this is my first collab mix ever, and for Wesley his first with someone from the “new generation.” – FooFou

It’s always a treat seeing Seattle’s old guard working closely with the new blood. Recently we spoke to Sean Majors and Doug McIntyre from Upper Left, who told us that mentorship is critical to our scene, to “bridge the gap between newcomers and veterans.” This mix goes a long way toward proving that, no matter your tenure or geography or experience in the scene, what really counts is how well you feel the music.

Wesley is a master. He did a lot of Abelton magic so [the mix] sounds super crisp! – FooFou

Wesley Holmes has been an influential and integral figure in the Northwest’s house music scene for over two decades, holding (among others) a residency at ReBar’s Flammable, the longest-running house nigh on the West Coast. FooFou began his DJ career in December of 2012 and quickly became one of Seattle’s favorite new DJs, with residencies at Q Nightclub and Foundation. Listening to the mix their chemistry is clear. We hope for many more collaborations in the future. Hear for yourself below!
